Founded in 2016, Gluestick was inspired by trips to other zine festivals. We wanted to take what we observed at these events and apply it to the cultural landscape of Indiana in hopes of inspiring DIY unity and a self publishing community.

Indianapolis has a long history of collective bookstores and DIY spaces. Many of these spaces were only sustainable for a few years and sometimes existing for only months. We wanted to create a one day event packed with zines, books, comics, etc. that could educate, inspire and intrigue Hoosiers outside of what they may find in mainstream publishing. It’s part library, part read-in, part block party. We organize peacefully and cater to people of all ages.
