Arcade Slam: Marvel Edition

What is the Arcade Slam? When cosplaying and poetry become one show. Where top local and regional poets battle all challengers while dressed like it’s a Marvel movie.

We want to encourage everyone to come cosplay’d as a Marvel character of their choosing. Patrons are not required to cosplay and/or wear a full costume. Shirts, hats, dresses, skirts, bracelets, etc. of your favorite Marvel character are fine. Those who come in Cosplay get in at $8. Otherwise, admission is $10 at the door. The event will not be censored but all ages are welcomed.

Arcade Slam Rules

There are 3 bosses (stage masters) and 7 players (challenging poets.) The bosses have 2 lives each, whilst the players have one. Each round (stage) has its own rules (obstacles). These could be impromptu poems, Haikus, writing prompts or 1-minute poems and so forth; the rules for each stage are decided upon by the bosses (stage masters). Obstacles will be announced before the slam. The slam will go until one side is eliminated. Each battle will be decided by 3 random judges on a 1-10 score.
