Always looking for new ways to present the wide world of classical music to every growing audiences throughout the city of Indianapolis, classical pianist Joshua A. Thompson has once again found a away to combine music, art, artistry and a sense of community with his latest project “Clothed in Classics: A unique take on classical music and fashion.”

Realizing that local business owners play a critical part in the success of musicians and artists, Thompson and Woodford have partnered with Humble Creations Studios and Bier Brewery (businesses along the 65th and Allisonville/Binford corridor known as ‘Sector 65’) along with the sponsorship of Arts for Lawrence and Classical Music Indy, to provide and end of summer experience that is 1 part classical music, 1 part fashion show and 1 part beer.

Sunday September 16th will feature a ‘meet the artist’ gathering at Bier Brewery where vocalist/instrumentalists Allison Victoria and Yadin Kol will provide the musical backdrop to incredible beer selections along with a chance to meet and purchase artistic works created by local artists Deonna Craig, Rae Parker and Cora Magere from 4-5pm. The works of these artists will be on full display at Bier Brewery starting Sept. 10th.

From 5:30p-6:30 head next door to the performance space at Humble Creations (owned and operated by Randall Rosenthall) as Joshua Thompson takes to the piano to play a program comprised exclusively of African-American classical composers. Adding movement, color and texture to the performance will be a runway fashion show featuring the latest collection of Remitha Lynn Woodford who utilizes current models and artists in the Indianapolis community.
