Instructor: Taylor Jon Simon
This writing workshop will provide exercises and instruction meant to sharpen flash nonfiction writing – specifically in the memoir genre. Prompts will be provided and students are welcome to bring previous writings to use as inspiration or a jumping-off point. One of the benefits of writing flash is the practice of packing as much of a punch in as few words as possible. Although quality can vary as with any art form, the flash approach is an accessible style that needs no previous experience to attempt.
