Instructor: Candace Denning
People often dream of writing a book without ever having written something shorter. But they’re overwhelmed by the immensity of the project when they actually sit down to write. This class offers an excellent starting point for beginning writers or writers struggling to write a novel or memoir. You’ll start with writing a scene, a basic structural component of both fiction and nonfiction, which will help you begin to see characters and actions differently. Writing and thinking in terms of scenes will also help you see why structure is so important and help you discover the right structure for the book of your dreams. Bring your laptop or pen and paper, and be prepared to write.
