The Sacred Arts at Second Series opens its season with “Duke and the Divine” featuring jazz arrangements of spirituals by the 2P Quintet on Friday, September 21, 2018, 7:30 p.m. Jazz concert includes music from Duke Ellington’s Sacred Concerts, original arrangements of spirituals and more. Concert is free and open to the public.

2P Quintet, comprised of Erin Benedict (vocals), Gary Walters (keyboard), Matt Pivec (reeds), Steve Dokken (bass) and Chris Pyle (drums), regularly performs at area jazz venues and leads worship at Second@Six, a weekly Sundays 6 p.m. worship service at Second Presbyterian Church. The musicians are collaborators high-in-demand, busy throughout the year performing together and separately, live and in studio; and have individually worked with renowned artists, such as Aretha Franklin, Henry Mancini, Red Garland, Sandi Patty, Carrie Newcomer, Bruce Barth, Rod Stewart, Eddie Money, etc.
