Solo Show featuring several surrealistic, colorful paintings by Brinton Farrand, and also featuring artwork by students of K-8 Edison School of the Arts in Indianapolis.
Artist’s Statement
I am an experimentalist.
I like to give my editorial observations about society, and challenge the status quo in both the depiction of the idea and the technique of capturing it.
My paintings reflect the story I am exploring so the audience can draw their own conclusions.
I strive to continually improve as an artist through experimentation, and tackling different mediums to create a new style.
I believe that the foundation of artwork should include strong lines, vibrant colors, and the power of light and reflection.
I Am Story: B Farrand, the Experimentalist Solo Show
With this show I have multiple paintings depicting the evolution of society and education, challenging current ways of thinking with thought provoking paintings. There is a view into the future with “Radical Possibilities”, a painting depicting a person shedding their mask in society “Façade”, a painting showing one individual standing out in the gray crowd “Risking Everything”, a painting questioning if time is constant and people are moving “Time is a Place”, and a painting looking at the paradox of robots ruling and doing no harm to humanity “The New Controller”.
We expect this exhibition to be unique and interactive, encouraging the audience to assist with the interpretation of the paintings. We also will donate 10% of all sales to the IPS K-8 Edison School of the Arts to encourage arts education for all children.
