This play, a major success in the 2017 Indy Fringe Festival, explores what happens when, during Freedom Summer (1964), a young black civil rights worker from the North shares a jail cell in rural Mississippi with a racist white man who is coming off a night of drinking too much. This comedy-drama looks at these two men of the same age at the height of the civil rights movement. This play, dedicated by the author to the civil rights individuals who risked their lives to come to the deep South to work for change, is a JCC Unity Project presentation.

The JCC’s 20th annual Ann Katz Festival of Books & Arts is a festival spanning over three weeks featuring local, national and international authors, films and filmmakers, performing and fine artists. This year’s Ann Katz Festival of Books and Arts runs October 17 through November 12, 2018.
