Digital File Prep for Screenprinting

Digital File Prep for Screenprinting

Presented by Cat Head Press at Cat Head Press: Printshop & Artist Collective

AGE: 18+

This one-day workshop, taught by CHP director and artist Liz Wierzbicki, will teach students the skills needed to prepare their images digitally for the screenprinting process. In particular, students will learn how and when to use the following processes and color modes: CMYK, Greyscale, Bitmap, and Duotone. Students will learn how to separate an image into multiple layers as well as adjust their images to create high-contrast black and white imagery that can be screen printed (both from digital imagery and scanned drawings).

This hands-on file editing workshop will give students the tools they need to create imagery ready to be exposed to their screens! After the workshop, students will then have access to open studio time in the shop so that they can practice their new skills!

This class will focus on Photoshop. Please bring your own computer with Photoshop installed.

Fee: $60 (this includes the studio fee to use the shop until 6pm after the digital lesson in the morning)
