Anthony Schumann works with a lot of household materials, found objects and recycleable materials like plastic bottles, aluminum cans, banding strips and zip ties. He chooses everyday objects as materials because they are things that everyone can relate to. By gathering and bringing together a lot of one thing, he creates natural and organic forms from manufactured products. This is a tedious and time-consuming process for him but it adds depth to his work. He often incorporates light, movement and sound in his works. He would like his work to make people more aware of things that are all around them that are constantly overlooked.
