Bartok, Britten, and The Blues

Faculty and guests explore a diverse musical landscape, from classic works of the early 20th century to the jazz, blues and pop inspirations of the Art Reiner Trio. Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra (ISO) Principal Oboe Jennifer Christen will be featured in Benjamin Britten\’s 1932 Phantasy Quartet for oboe and strings, Op. 2. Austin Huntington and Gregory Martin open the program with Bela Bartok\’s imaginative treatment of Hungarian and Romanian folk melodies in the Rhapsody No. 1 from 1928.
