Artist’s Statement: I began my career as a professional artist fresh out of the Herron School of Art (1985-89) with a four-person exhibit at Ruschman Gallery in Indianapolis in 1990. In 2017, I have fulfilled a 10-year desire to learn how to work with textiles. In February I did a short apprenticeship with a mascot company in order to learn how to use sewing machines and work with various fabrics so that I could begin to make quilts. In December of 2017, I was awarded the inaugural DeHaan Artist of Distinction Award.
