Individuals of all ages and families are invited for an afternoon of cultural entertainment that will include a presentation by Dr. Lonnie Johnson, founder and president of Johnson Research and Development Co. and inventor of the wildly popular Super Soaker water gun, who today focuses on inventions related to clean energy. The event also will feature winners of the teen Slammin’ Rhymes Challenge XIII, as well as a lineup of special entertainers. “Fall Fest 2018” is presented by The Indianapolis Public Library’s African American History Committee in support of the Center for Black Literature & Culture at Central Library. It is made possible by the Donna D. Talley Story Theatre Fund and Friends of the Library through gifts to The Indianapolis Public Library Foundation. Attendees also are encouraged to view the traveling exhibit from the Black Inventions Museum, “A Salute to Black Inventors & Scientists.” Also appearing will be the L.U.T.A.N. (Lift Up Tumbling and Nutrition, LLC) Stars; H.Y.P. (Hit Your Peak) fitness instructor “TJ”; rapper and poet Mr. Testimony; and the “Magic of Science” from Mobile Ed Productions.
