Six artists whose prints are represented by Paulson Fontaine Press will be featured at the Alexander Hotel City/Way Gallery curated by iMOCA from Jan.11-June 23, 2019.
Artists whose work will be shown at CityWay Gallery are Indianapolis-based artist Samuel Levi Jones, Ruth Laskey, and four of the Quilters of Gee’s Bend– Louisiana Bendolph, Mary Lee Bendolph, Loretta Pettway, and Loretta Bennett. These artists were selected because of the relationship all their work has to textiles. You can look up more info on each artist through the website: http://paulsonfontainepress.com/artists/.
Paulson Fontaine Press, located in San Francisco, specializes in limited edition intaglio prints. The press emerged from the San Francisco Bay Area’s rich tradition of fine art printmaking. Paulson Fontaine Press’s philosophy is to facilitate rather than direct an artist, creating an environment where artists can do their best work.
In January of 1997, the press launched its first publication with four-color etchings by Christopher Brown. Since then, Paulson Fontaine Press has published more than 500 editions with more than 45 artists. The press’ entire archive is now a part of the collection of The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco.
This exhibition is a partnership of iMOCA, Buckingham Companies, CityWay, and Paulson Fontaine Press. For print edition inquiries and purchases, please visit www.paulsonfontainepress.com
