Rhythm! Discover Center presents MLK Day featuring...

Presented by Rhythm! Discovery Center at Rhythm! Discover Center

MLK Day at Rhythm Discovery Center is a day of free admission for everyone to come explore the world’s foremost drum and percussion museum.

As part of the day, we will have a performance by Indianapolis’ own Clint Breeze and The Groove at 2PM. You can read more about them below and see a live video by clicking the link. Hope to see you there!

Clint Breeze is the artistic persona of Indianapolis-based drummer and hip hop producer, Carrington Clinton. The Groove is an all-star lineup of Indy-based jazz musicians featuring Nick Tucker (bass), Christopher Pitts (piano), Jared Thompson (saxophone), Joel Tucker (guitar), frontman Pernell from Pike (vocalist) and led by drummer and beat maker and producer Clint Breeze.

In 2018, Clint Breeze and The Groove shared the stage with Trombone Shorty and Durand Jones and The Indications, headlined several festivals in Indianapolis including Chreece and Indy Jazz Fest. Clint Breeze and The Groove has been working on their debut studio album and plan to release the project Spring 2019.

In 2016, Breeze released ‘Nappy Head’, an album that highlights the socio-political climate of Black America featuring the artistic signatures of over two dozen rappers, musicians, singers and poets collaborating with artists Oreo Jones, Drayco, Flaco, Too Black, Pope Adrian Bless and Sirius Blvck to name a few. Nappy Head generated a buzz around the city of Indianapolis and established itself as local ‘classic’. The album also received critical acclaim from music writer Kyle Long who covers the band regularly for both Indianapolis’ NPR affiliate (WFYI) and Indy’s alternative newsweekly (NUVO).
