David Hockney Prints

Presented by Long-Sharp Gallery at Long-Sharp Gallery

Long-Sharp Gallery exhibits David Hockney Prints January 23 through February 23 at its Indianapolis location, One North Illinois, Suite A. The exhibit will consist of prints created in various media in association with various print workshops, including his first, Gemini G.E.L. British-born artist David Hockney, who has thus far held over 400 solo exhibitions during his career, will now have one in Indianapolis. The exhibit will contain images for which the artist is known: interior scenes, portraits of friends, landscapes, and California pools.

David Hockney’s name splashed across the art news in November 2018, when his 1972 painting sold at public auction for $90.3 million, surpassing the previous auction record for a living artist held by Jeff Koons (for $58.4 million). The painting, “Portrait of an Artist (Pool with Two Figures)”, first sold in 1972 for $20,000.

The exhibit of David Hockney’s works at Long-Sharp Gallery will open to the public on February 1st as a part of Indy Arts Guide’s First Fridays from 6:30-9:00 pm. The opening is sponsored by Conrad Indianapolis.
