Visiting Artist Talk with Rickie Barnett

Presented by Herron School of Art and Design at Eskenazi Fine Arts Center

Join us for a talk with visiting ceramics artist Rickie Barnett on Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Herron’s Eskenazi Fine Arts Center building. Barnett will discuss his artwork, the underlying concepts, and the lifestyle he has created to pursue art-making.

About Rickie Barnett

Rickie Barnett grew up in Redding, California, and attended California State University, Chico, receiving a B.F.A. with an emphasis in painting and ceramics. After graduating in 2013, Barnett took up a yearlong position as an artist-in-residence at Taos Clay Studio in Taos, New Mexico, where he created new work, taught classes, and ran workshops. He then moved to Seattle for a long-term position as a studio assistant to Deborah Schwartzkopf at Rat City Studios while also teaching classes in ceramics. Barnett currently lives in Bakersville, North Carolina, near Penland School of Craft, where he works as a studio assistant to ceramic sculptors Cristina Cordova and Jeannine Marchand.
