CIDE’s annual performance of ‘Mixed Rep’ showcases CIDE pre-professional students in both classical and contemporary works.
Imagine yourself by a lakeside, in a forest clearing by the ruins of a castle on a moonlit night. Watch as a young prince on a hunt wanders away from his friends, as a flock of swans land. See his amazement in the transformation of swan to a beautiful maiden, Odette. The dancers of Central Indiana Dance Ensemble will perform the second act of Swan Lake with grace and beauty in this classic piece, contrasting with the fast changing dance elements presented in this eclectic show. Classic, modern and contemporary pieces threaded together to perform a journey through the world of dance. In addition to Swan Lake, CIDE will perform Life, choreographed by Joe Istre, a piece choreographed by Mauro Villanueva, former Joffrey Ballet dancer and Artistic Director of Joffrey Texas and lastly, Colorimetry, choreographed by Pacific Northwest Ballet dancer and alum of CIDE, Price Suddarth.
