The People Speak: Voices of the African Diaspora

Presented by IUPUI - Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis at IUPUI Hine Hall Auditorium

The People Speak” — the inaugural production by A.R.T.I. (Africana Repertory Theatre of IUPUI) — is a LIVE stage reading featuring members of the IUPUI community presenting the courageous voices of Ancestors (and those still living). The production features dramatic performances of the speeches, diaries, and letters of courageous Americans who pushed for radical change and social transformation.

Joining us is nationally-acclaimed Poet, Spoken Word Artist, Author, Activist, and Detroit native, jessica Care moore. She has authored numerous books including The Words Don’t Fit in My Mouth, The Alphabet Verses, and God is Not an American.
