An internationally acclaimed artist and recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship who represented the United States in three biennales, Ann Hamilton is a Midwest native. Her solo exhibit at Long-Sharp Gallery takes place March 1-30.
Eponymously titled ann hamilton, an exhibit featuring over two dozen works by artist Ann Hamiltonopens at Long-Sharp Gallery Friday, March 1and runs through March 30. An internationally acclaimed artist, recipient of the MacArthur Fellowship who represented the United States in three biennales and whose works are in the permanent collections of dozens of important museums (including the Indianapolis Museum of Art), Ann Hamilton is a Midwest native born and raised in Ohio.
This exhibit marks Long-Sharp Gallery’s second solo exhibition of Hamilton’s work – the first exhibit took place at EXPO Chicago in September 2018. Works included in ann hamiltonwill include sculpture from her Ohio studio alongside prints and multiples created in collaboration with Gemini G.E.L. (Los Angeles).
Ann Hamilton will be lecturing in Indianapolis during the exhibition. She will present the Jane Fortune Outstanding Women Visiting Artist Lecture on at the Herron School of Art + Design on Wednesday, March 6 from 5:30-8:00pm. Visit herrongallerys.org for details.
Then opening of ann hamilton will take place on March 1 from 6:30 – 9:00pm; it is free and open to the public. The opening is sponsored by Conrad Indianapolis.
