Opera Sundays at the Basile

Opera Sundays at the Basile

Presented by The Indianapolis Opera at Basile Opera Center

Come hear the Resident Artists perform arias, art songs, excerpts from musical theatre, and scenes from great operas at the first of two Opera Sundays at the Basile Opera Center this spring. The theme of this hour-long concert focuses on love and celebration, featuring scenes of romance, heartbreak, longing, and invigoration.

Guests can expect to hear music by famous opera composers including Mozart, Donizetti, Verdi, Puccini, Gounod, and Massenet. In late celebration of Black History Month, the Resident Artists will offer four art songs by African American composers or poets, including songs by H. Leslie Adams and Margaret Bonds.

Admission is FREE and open to the general public. There will be a short reception after the concert.
