Imagine the Possibilities: An Exhibition of Traditional, Antique, and Vintage Quilts

Presented by Butler Arts Center at Clowes Memorial Hall, Butler Arts Center

Reddick Wilson Weimer Crazy Quilt: An 1884 Crazy Quilt from Indiana made with silks and velvets, and many embroidered designs.

We’ll gather in the Clowes lobby with a guided tour from 6 to 7 pm, including an engaging conversation with quilt experts.
After the tour, please stay to enjoy light refreshments and casual conversation. This is free and open to the public

Opening reception Tuesday, May 14, at 6pm.

Star of Bethlehem Quilt: A 1930 Amish quilt from northern Indiana that was pieced on a treadle sewing machine and hand quilted using black thread on a black background.

Redick WIlson Weimer Crazy Quilt: An 1884 Crazy Quilt from Indiana made with silks and velvets, and many embroidered designs.

Grandmother’s Flower Garden Quilt: This 1930’s quilt, using the iconic Grandmother’s Flower Garden pattern, was hand pieced by Rita Benham Colgalzier of Salem, Indiana and hand quilted by the women of the FIrst Methodist Church of Salem.
