Printmaking for Painters

Printmaking for Painters

Presented by Sugar Creek Art Center at Unknown

Printmaking for Painters is designed as an introduction to acrylic monotype printing technique for those who are primarily painters. Emphasis is upon creative exploration, not a final product. Connections between painting and printmaking will be emphasized. Once the basic layering concept has been introduced and a color palette chosen, the sky is the limit!

We will be using highly saturated acrylic paints as well as acrylic gels on Yupo (plastic sheet) to replicate textures, patterns and forms. The properties of acrylic paint on Yupo will be demonstrated and explained. This is NOT acrylic pouring! Participants are welcome to introduce in-painting, linocut and / or collage elements in their works. Acrylic, gels and one 20″ x 26″ Yupo sheet are provided by the instructor.
