Listen to Your Mother Indy

Listen to Your Mother Indy

at IndyFringe Basile Theater

The goal of every LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER production is to take the audience on a well-crafted, 90-minute journey of diverse, true stories about motherhood—being a mom, having a mom, losing a mom, finding a mom—as many interpretations on the theme of mothering as you can imagine.

Author Ann Imig founded LISTEN TO YOUR MOTHER in 2010 in Madison, Wisconsin. She and 11 other local writers read their original, true stories of motherhood before an audience of 300 on Mother’s Day. The show became an instant sensation, growing into a grassroots phenomenon spanning 50+ cities and 250 productions across North America, an acclaimed anthology from Putnam Books, a charitable giving movement which raised over $140,000 for nonprofit causes supporting women and families in need, plus a wide array of national media and press, including hundreds of local media and online/print features, not to mention millions of social media impressions.

Producer/organizer Haley Lawrence of Carmel auditioned dozens of local men and women and selected 12 of the most diverse offerings, from moms who broke the law to those who broke the mold, incredible stories of immigrants setting sail to a young woman selling her eggs, the Indianapolis storytellers will delight and inspire audiences.
