Come and explore the caves of southern Indiana with The Children’s Museum! On this charter bus tour, our first stop will be Marengo Cave, a U.S. National Natural Landmark, which was the inspiration behind our cave in ScienceWorks. While at Marengo, we will take guided tours of their two different cave systems and learn about stalagmites, flowstones, and the mineral composition of caves. Enjoy a delicious pizza lunch at Marengo Cave before setting off for Bluespring Caverns. At Bluespring Caverns, you will experience caving in a whole new way – on a boat! Experience ‘total darkness’ and catch a glimpse of animal life within a cave. Learn about Indiana’s geological past from experts while you are in the field. Sit back, relax, and let us be your guide to the exploration of a whole different world right below your feet! *Please note – both Marengo Cave and Bluespring Caverns are not wheelchair accessible. Both walking tours will involve steep steps and slopes. Strollers are also not allowed within the cave systems.
