“Trees and flowers give us life and they make the world beautiful,” Scott said. “As artists, we can only strive to capture a tiny sliver of the feelings we get when we see and touch and smell the real thing in nature. But try we do.”

About Danielle J. Scott

Danielle J. Scott makes her return to the Indianapolis art scene after recent health issues, including recovering from a car accident in 2017. “As an artist, this meant having to take several months off at a time from doing something I truly love,” Scott said. “As I was able, between each of the surgeries, I worked diligently to stay in practice. Working in ink requires a steady hand to create smooth, flowing lines. With perseverance and commitment to recovery, you can overcome huge obstacles in life.”

Scott is a lifelong Hoosier and Colts fan, who lives with her family outside of Coatesville, Indiana. She enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and kayaking, as well as travel, and those past times in nature inspire her intricate ink drawings, blending shapes to appreciate gnarled trees, flowers, and even weeds.

“It reminds me of children pointing at clouds and making up what the shape is, while their friend may see something totally different and equally wonderful,” Scott said. “I often interweave subtle details into my art just to keep the viewer looking for more.”

About the Full Circle Nine Gallery

The Full Circle Nine Gallery operates as an artist cooperative gallery, with each of the member artists and the board dividing gallery duties and artists roles. The artists will work together to help each other advance in skill and practice, as well as to bring success to the gallery.

With nearly two dozen artists occupying a large, three-room space of the more factory-reminiscent portion of the Circle City Industrial Complex, Full Circle Nine offers a wide variety of art forms, media, and approaches.
