“Spring: Spirited and Majestic” concert features pianist May Phang performing Tchaikovsky’s beloved Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23. Works by Jennifer Higdon, Li Huanzhi and Paul Addison Francis complete the program.
The Philharmonic premieres the work by Crown Point High School student Paul Addison Francis, whose composition won the Indiana Music Education Association’s annual competition. Greencastle pianist May Phang, who has appeared with leading US and international orchestras, will play Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat minor, Op. 23. All things Majestic by Jennifer Higdon and Spring Festival Overture by Li Huangzhi complete the program. The concert is held at Pike Performing Arts Center, 6701 Zionsville Rd., Indianapolis on Sunday, May 19 at 3:00 PM.
Tickets are available online or at the door. Tickets for adults are $15, $12 for seniors, and $5 for students.
