Children who attend Hawthorne Community Center summer camp and their families will celebrate the end of summer and get the back-to-school season off to a great start with this bi-cultural celebration filled with music, dance, art activities, and light snacks. This event is totally free and also open to the community.
For the first edition of this event, from Chicago, Illinois, Son Monarcas will be performing their traditional son jarocho (Mexican folk) music with touches of modern flare. Local Grupo Folclórico Macehuani will delight crowds with their colorful outfits and beautiful dances. El Camaron Electronico will bring the event together with his eclectic mix of Espanglish music from classic to contemporary.
