Getting Your Ten-Minute Play Produced with Mark Harvey Levine

Getting Your Ten-Minute Play Produced with Mark Harvey Levine

Presented by Indiana Writers Center at Indiana Writers Center

Instructor: Mark Harvey Levine

You’ve written a play, now what? You’ve got to get it on stage. This class will teach you how to get your play produced. Students will learn how to find theaters, festivals and contests that are actively looking for plays like yours. You’ll learn how to put together a submission package — properly formatting your play, writing a good cover letter, synopsis and bio.

In this one-session class, I’ll tell you about free online writers groups where playwrights support each other and trade submission opportunities. You’ll learn how to track your submissions and opportunities, and how to maximize your play’s chances for success. And maybe you’ll even make a little money with your play! I’ll also give you tips on working with directors and actors once your play is chosen for that first production.

Plays are meant to be produced, not just read. The real joy is seeing your words come to life. There’s nothing quite like the experience of sitting down in the theater, seeing the lights go down and knowing that the characters you thought up in your own room are about to walk out on stage.
