Setting a Place: Local Potters & Chefs

Setting a Place: Local Potters & Chefs

Presented by Fountain Square Clay Center at Fountain Square Clay Center

Fountain Square Clay Center brings back its plate to palate event, “Setting a Place: Local Potters & Chefs”. The event connects local ceramic artists across Indiana with its leading chefs.

From street food to tapas, the way we eat and share our meals has changed and evolved. Along with this change, the traditional place setting of our grandparents has transformed. With the place setting being an intersection of design, food, and art, this show will explore the form, arrangement, and function of handmade wares.

15 local potters will reinterpret how we share our meals and the pots that serve them, while local chefs, Abbi Merriss (Bluebeard), and Erin Kem (Cannon Ball Brewery), and Greg Hardesty (H2O Sushi, Elements, Recess, & Studio C) will provide tastings. Local potters will demonstrate and discuss their process. Chefs will demonstrate plating on local ceramic wares.

Sun King Brewery will be serving beer.

This is a Bring Your Own Plate Event.

The price of the ticket includes 3 tastings, and 1 beer.

The first 40 purchased tickets will receive a FREE plate or tray, when they share the event on Facebook and tag Fountain Square Clay Center for each ticket they purchase. Trays and plates range in size from 5″ by 7″ to 11″ in diameter. Purchasers will be notified ahead of event about whether they won a free plate/s. 130 tickets are available for the event, so if the ticket count is above 90, there is a good chance you won.
