Join soprano Dana Zenobi and her Butler Univ. colleagues for beautiful and compelling chamber music pairing a high voice and low-register instruments. Dr. Zenobi will be joined by David Murray on double bass and Cathy Bringerud on piano for two lovely romantic arias by Pietro Bottesini. She and Doug Spaniol (bassoon) will perform \”I Never Saw Another Butterfly,\” a poignant song cycle by Lori Laitman on texts authored by children in the Terezin Concentration Camp during the second World War. Richard Auldon Clark will join on the viola for a suitably Halloween-week creepy rendition of \”Struwwelpeterlieder,\” a setting of rather morbid German fairy tales composed by Lowell Liebermann.
This event is free and open to the public. No tickets required.
