Follow a Baroque musical journey through Europe tracing the great Italian composer and violinist Arcangelo Corelli’s gift to the world of music: the concerto grosso.
Join the rich and luxurious sound world of sheep gut strings and Baroque curved bows in the Indianapolis Baroque Orchestra. Conducted by the world renowned Belgian Early Music specialist, Barthold Kuijken, Ticket to Ride follows a Baroque musical journey through Europe. This program celebrates the great Italian composer and violinist Arcangelo Corelli’s gift to the world of music: the concerto grosso. Hear the father of Italian violin playing and two of his Italian students, Francesco Geminiani and Pietro Antonio Locatelli, as well as George Frideric Handel as they sojourn through Italy, Holland, and England.
