Since 2012, workers have been planning and implementing renovation of a c.1900 stone arch bridge spanning Fall Creek on Central Avenue, a character-defining feature of the city’s George Kessler-designed parks and boulevards system.
During an illustrated talk at Indiana Landmarks Center, project engineer Katlyn Shergalis, a bridge project manager at Butler, Fairman, and Seufert, Inc., and David M. Borden, deputy director of engineering for the City of Indianapolis’ Department of Public Works, share insights about the complexities of the rehabilitation design and lessons learned in rebuilding the bridge.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., with a cash bar and light refreshments available; talk begins at 6 p.m.
Continuing education credits for landscape architects sponsored by the Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
