A 2019 Guggenheim Fellow, Sandeep Das is one of the leading Tabla virtuosos in the world today. Having established himself as India’s top Tabla maestro, he has built a prolific international reputation spanning more than 25 years. He is one of the unique Indian classical musicians who has collaborated, performed with, and composed for major symphony orchestras, string quartets, jazz musicians, world music ensembles, and many other unique groups with regularly featured concerts at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Hollywood Bowl, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Concertgebouw, to name a few.

Rajib Karmakar, sitar, is a Los Angeles based performance artist, composer and educator who combines tradition with experiment to create new forms, drawing from a deep grounding in Indian classical music to wide varieties in contemporary world music, rock and jazz. Rajib has been performing in India and around the world.

Antara Bhardwaj, Kathak dancer, is one of the most dynamic classical Indian artists of this generation. Born in India, she began her study of Kathak (North Indian classical story-telling dance) with her Guru, the late Pandit Chitresh Das, at the age of nine. She spent many years studying one-on-one with him in the traditional ancient Guru-disciple tradition and went on to become a Kathak soloist, a member of the internationally renowned Chitresh Das Dance Company, and a teacher for the Chhandam School of Kathak.

The JCA Signature Series is a high-impact artist residency program for student enrichment and community enjoyment.
