This high-energy beginner to intermediate urban choreography class is designed to challenge and entertain dancers of all levels – beginners are encouraged to attend! Choreography teeters between beginner to intermediate level with plenty of opportunity to work through phrase material. Lauren blends her training in hip hop and modern to produce her style that includes elements of urban, street, and jazz. Class will incorporate a follow-along style warm up, learning between five to seven 8-counts of choreography, and ending with a cool down. This class encourages individual expression and personal style. Participants will work on rhythm, coordination, musicality, and choreography. Come ready to move and have fun!

Lauren Gendron works in the Indianapolis arts community with a huge passion for dance, choreography, and live performance. After taking some time off during college to pursue her education, Lauren remembers seeking out adult beginner hip hop classes to reintroduce herself and her body to dance a few years ago, but found herself in classes with junior dancers. Her passion for adult beginner classes and creating an open and welcoming environment comes from her own personal experiences navigating life with and without dance. Lauren is proud to represent Echo Dance Company and to partner with Indianapolis Movement Arts Collective to lead adult beginner to intermediate choreography classes.
