Join us for a dynamic visual and auditory event by Derek Tuder: Artist, Author, Dancer, Model and CEO featuring such artists as Poet Jamaica’s Just C and Singer/songwriter Yadin Kol.
Born in Indianapolis, Derek displayed a love for the arts at a very young age that led to art awards, leading roles and dance performances in elementary school and high school which culminated to him receiving a college scholarship at Ball State University.
In the 80’s, Derek became a successful ibreak dancer and instructor, landing him a State championship, touring the U.S., NBA halftime show performances, TV appearances, Adidas sponsorship, the Key to The City of Indianapolis and more.
In the 90s, He pursued the art of music and opened the N.O.W. Enterprize Production and Studios, that launched his rap career and he also helped birth the Billboard-charting rap group, N.A.P., and at the same time was a professional graffiti artists.
From 2009 to 2014, Derek continued to explore new mediums. His artwork won several awards for his portraits and fantasy artworks, including large murals and artwork published, some internationally. He then broke into the Literary Arts by writing poetry, storytelling, songs and short stories.
Since 2015, his artwork has been on exhibit at The Madame Walker Building, the Tube Factory, the Veteran’s Memorial Plaza, Indiana Interchurch Center, Indianapolis Marion County Public Library and the Indianapolis Arts Garden at Circle Centre Mall.
His artwork has also been featured in several events and exhibitions such as: Indy Festival of Faith, 2018 & 2019 Flavor Fresh Contemporary Fine Art Annual Juried exhibitions, Open Bite Night, What’s Behind the Doors exhibition, the Trail Blazers Awards honoring actor/comedian Mike Epps, WBA’s Tameka Catchings and more.
His literary art career just recently produced his first inspirational book, “From Broken Boy to Reigning King”, released on June 8, 2019.
There’s no stopping him as he’s also indulging in the fine art of clothing designs as a model for fashion designers and charity events.
Derek Tuder’s art is currently on display at The Green Men Art Gallery and the Arts Garden.
