It’s been nearly 30 years since the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra—with Conductor Laureate Maestro Raymond Leppard—last performed Elijah, Mendelssohn’s glorious, sacred oratorio. Under the talented direction of Jun Märkl, four incredible soloists, the Indianapolis Symphonic Choir, and the Indianapolis Children’s Choir bring the Old Testament story of the prophet Elijah to life. This work alone cemented Mendelssohn’s place in history as one of the greatest composers of sacred music.
