Renowned actor and regional favorite Jen Johansen portrays artist Georgia O’Keeffe, one of the most significant and intriguing artists of the twentieth century. O’Keeffe’s distinct flowers, dramatic cityscapes, glowing landscapes, and images of bones against the stark desert sky are iconic and original contributions to American Modernism. This half-hour character monologue provides a unique perspective on the artist’s life and career. After the performance, we will host an informal conversation with Johansen and the IMA Docents.

Jen Johansen makes her home in Indy, but has performed regionally since 2002. She performs locally at the Phoenix Theatre and the Indiana Repertory Theater, and is a member of ShadowApe Theatre Company. Regionally, she works with Dayton’s Human Race Theater Company and Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati. Notable productions include The Giver, The Ladies Man, Macbeth, Twelfth Night, and A Christmas Carol.
