Brubeck Brothers Quartet: Dave Brubeck Centennial Celebration

Brubeck Brothers Quartet: Dave Brubeck Centennial Celebration

Presented by Center for the Performing Arts at Palladium at the Center for the Performing Arts

Drummer Dan Brubeck and bassist, trombonist and composer Chris Brubeck lead their combo in a salute to their legendary father. Pianist-composer Dave Brubeck, who died in 2012, was a leading exponent of cool jazz and a pioneer in the use of unconventional time signatures.

In this multimedia presentation, the brothers will mark the centennial of their late father’s birth with a tribute that includes stories and images as well as music from his extraordinary life and career. Dave Brubeck, a leading exponent of cool jazz, is perhaps best known for his 1959 album Time Out, which remains one of the most popular and influential jazz records of all time.
