Votes For Women! A dramatic presentation by MaryAnne Mathews on the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th Amendment that gave women in the United States the right to vote.
It is 1918 and Indiana is on the verge of granting voting rights to the women of the state. Women in other states are not so fortunate, so the nation’s suffragists are campaigning for a Constitutional amendment granting full voting rights. Mrs. Martha Carpenter is an Indiana suffragist (one who supports voting rights) and urges you to join her in signing a petition to President Woodrow Wilson asking for his support. Join her in marching for the rights of women in the United States of America!
MaryAnne Mathews is a playwright, actress, and musician who portrays Mrs. Lincoln and the fictional Mrs. Carpenter. She is a retired teacher and performs with the acoustic band Crossing Bridges.
