The Philharmonic Orchestra of Indianapolis and Symphonic Praise Choir present the 22nd Annual Gospel Concert featuring contemporary and traditional gospel and praise music on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
The Philharmonic Orchestra and Symphonic Praise Choir celebrate Black composers and musicians with a concert of traditional and contemporary gospel and praise music. The concert includes an orchestral work by Indianapolis composer Dr. Robert T. Townsend and featuring guest cellist Jeremy Anderson of Indianapolis and the Symphonic Praise Choir. The concert includes works by Undine Smith Moore, Richard Smallwood, Moses Hogan, Natalie Grant, and others. The Butler University Choir, Butler Chorale, and musicians and dancers from The Performing Arts Conservatory are also on the concert program.
A pre-concert discussion with Dr. Robert T. Townsend and guest artist Jeremy Anderson will start at 2:30 PM followed by the concert at 3:00 PM.
Tickets may be purchased online until 12:00 noon on Sunday, February 16, 2020. The Pike Performing Arts Box Office opens at 1:30 PM on the day of the concert. Ticket prices are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $5 for students ages 6-22. Children age 5 and under are free but must have a ticket.
