Written by Rita Kohn
This one-act play adapted by Kohn is adapted from the memoir Wind Chimes & Promises by Indianapolis author Phyllis Adair-Ward. The work chronicles the life of Adair-Ward’s mother Prudence and her life in the early 19th century Indianapolis neighborhood of Brightwood Martindale. Experience, with Prudence, her coming of age in a place she has not felt fully comfortable until “the turning point” – the point at which she recognizes that the real challenge of life is to make of your self a good person no matter where you live.
