There’s an old saying that says, “Turn your mess into a message.” That is one way to think about writing stories that relate to our own personal grief. If we dig deep and pull up the pain of our past and present, we can take that pain and create worlds that will release us from some of that pain and move our readers to a potential place of healing. We, as writers, are constantly wading through our own emotional experiences in order to create rich, multi-dimensional characters. This workshop will focus on ways to process our grief and ways to put it on the page.
This event is held in support of “The Clothesline Indiana” project, led by Women4Change and the Indiana Coalition to End Sexual Assault.
