Musician Juan-Carlos Alarcon is taking over our Facebook page for an evening exploration of his Mexican heritage thru music.

About Juan-Carlos Alarcon
A native of Puebla, Mexico, Juan-Carlos Alarcon developed his love for music by playing piano at an early age. His musical activities have taken him to New York and performed at Carnegie Hall in 2016 and 2019. In February 2019, he traveled to Los Angeles for the 61st Grammy Music Awards where the album in which “American Dreamers participated, Voices of Hope, Music of Freedom ”by John Daversa received three awards. Juan Carlos graduated from the Raclin School of the Arts at Indiana University in South Bend and currently teaches music at the Roosevelt School in Elkhart, Indiana.

Mayo Más Mexicano is a series of virtual talks and performances during the month of May, the purpose is to celebrate some aspects of the Mexican arts and culture. This series is curated by Arte Mexicano en Indiana and led by Mexican and Mexican-Americans artists, and arts fans of the Mexican Culture.

This event series is funded by the Arts Council of Indianapolis, Big Car Collaborative, 99.1 WQRT FM, Nopal Cultural and artist donors.
