Presented by Phoenix Theatre at Online/Virtual Space

The Chicago-based director, deviser, and educator will lead the free, online discussion on how to approach a script, how to work with designers and actors, and how to be responsible in curating a specific story for the audience. He will also share his thoughts and advice on finding work and creating a network in the industry.
Save your spot today and register by email at education@phoenixtheatre.org. All Lunch Club classes are from noon to 1 p.m. and can be easily accessed from home via Zoom on your computer or devices.
Phoenix fans will remember Burke as the director of Phoenix’s most recent production, The Agitators by Mat Smart, which featured civil rights icons Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony as they fought together to end slavery and secure a woman’s right to vote. Earlier this year, in another historic drama, Burke directed the Indiana Repertory Theatre‘s The Watsons Go to Birmingham—1963 which explored that era’s civil rights history including racism and hate.
