Action! A Celebration of Indiana Onscreen

Action! A Celebration of Indiana Onscreen

Presented by Indiana Humanities at Online/Virtual Space

“I didn’t know they made movies like that about Indiana.”

We overheard an audience member say this during a screening last winter, during our 10-city INseparable Film Tour. In a way, his remark was the thesis statement for the work Indiana Humanities has been doing over the last two years to fund and premiere short documentaries about Indiana, by Indiana filmmakers.

Indiana stories are worth telling, Indiana filmmakers have the talent and Indiana audiences are hungry to see their own lives and experiences onscreen.

If you feel this way too, we hope you’ll join us for a special screening of Larry from Gary, one of the incredible films we’ve supported that’s now making its way to film festivals around the country. After the screening, stick around for an exclusive Q&A with award-winning filmmaker Dan Rybicky and Larry Brewer, the inspiring educator at the heart of the film.

All proceeds from this unique fundraising event go to a matching campaign for the recently established Joe & Carol Trimmer Indiana Film Fund, a legacy gift to Indiana Humanities that will support more films like Larry from Gary. Tickets are only $10, but we hope you’ll give more if you believe that we need more films like Larry from Gary.

Film is powerful but expensive. Our stipends to filmmakers typically only cover part of the cost of production, but they do often lead to other funding and ensure these stories come to life.
