It takes time and courage to write and to write well. A regular writing practice and insightful feedback helps writers by reminding them that they are not alone. This online creative writing workshop is for the writer who seeks momentum in their writing and is committed to seeing their novel or memoir through to completion.
How it works: In this intensive workshop class we will meet five times over the spring for three hours, with the bulk of time progressively spent workshopping the fiction and nonfiction of our classmates. Each writer will have the chance to submit his/her work to the group on four occasions, although writers are expected to be working on additional pages. During each class a brief period of time will be spent discussing Meghan O’Gieblyn’s collection of essays INTERIOR STATES along with practical techniques to demystify the writing process and help writers gain insight into their projects.
This class is offered virtually once a month for five months and meets from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. EST on Thursdays: 1/28, 2/25, 3/25, 4/22 and 5/20. It is open to writers of all ages and abilities who are currently working on a book-length project. Class is capped at 8 students and registration closes one week prior to the start of class. Your tuition includes the option to meet with Melissa for a 30-minute, one-on-one conference via Zoom or phone during the first and/or last week of the workshop.
