The Full Circle Nine Gallery (FC9) will feature “Love is Love,” by Wayne Bersch, as part of the First Friday art tour. Additional programming will take place on Facebook and Instagram as a continuation of Virtual First Friday.
Bertsch’s show will feature a theme of equality through his mixed media pop-style art.
“With the new president and hopefully a new era, it’s important for allies to show up and show off,” Bertsch said. “I just think it’s time to show some much needed positivity.”
About Wayne Bertsch
Wayne Bertsch relocated to Indianapolis in 2003 and settled in with his long running Nuvo comic strip “Barfly.” The strip ran from 2003 until the end of Nuvo’s print run and was its longest running feature, often joined by Bertsch’s political commentary in the sister-strip “Gadfly.”
At the same time, Bertsch developed his illustrative technique through the local music scene as a gig poster artist, including for national acts like George Clintin, P.J. Harvey, and The Ataris.
Bertsch was formerly the artist-in-residence at New Day Meadery, and now has ongoing work showing at the Fountain Square Brewery and Nine Lives Cat Café, as well as his new home at the Full Circle Nine Gallery. After a year of constant change, Bertsch looks forward to 2021.
“I feel like a weight is lifted and maybe normalcy is a year or two away,” Bertsch said. “Hopefully, as we inch towards whatever future is over the horizon, we can use art and culture to make the transition easier.”
About the Full Circle Nine Gallery
The Full Circle Nine Gallery operates as an artist cooperative gallery, with each of the member artists and the board dividing gallery duties and artists roles. The artists will work together to help each other advance in skill and practice, as well as to bring success to the gallery.

To better work with in the COVID-19 shutdown and restrictions, the Full Circle Nine Gallery has hosted Virtual First Fridays, on the gallery’s Facebook page, @fullcircleninegallery, as well as on its Instagram, @fc9gallery, during the typical First Friday hours. During that time, the artists will host live streams, post videos, or showcase photos of their latest work, in an effort to continue to connect with fans and patrons. The gallery has also resumed weekend hours, 12-4pm on Saturdays and Sundays, with health precautions, such as required masks.
