Tube Factory artspace is a 12,000 square-foot non-collecting contemporary art museum curated based upon the themes of community, place, memory and mythology. We commission local, regional, national and international contemporary visual and musical artists, borrow artifact-based exhibits and create community-sourced exhibits.
Containing a coffeeshop, 1/2 acre public greenspace with several living sculptures, we tie together Indiana’s agricultural reputation and contemporary art. Juan William Chavez’s The Indianapolis Bee Sanctuary, Jason Peter Gray’s Chicken Palace and Nasreen Kahn, Shauta Marsh and Jason Peter Gray’s Chicken Chapel of Love all serve as meditation, a wedding venue and an educational space.
A previously vacant former manufacturing building, Tube Factory artspace is a thoughtfully renovated home base for Big Car Collaborative’s (www.bigcar.org) work as well as partnership-based community meetings and cultural events.
