History

Urban Musical Theatre (F/K/A Indiana Performing Arts Centre) provides access to the dramatic arts for people of color and increases black artists’ participation and representation in theatrical productions. Established in 2005, IPAC was formed as a nonprofit theatrical organization because African Americans greatly lacked access to arts education programs and theatrical works. Urban Musical Theatre is committed to quality arts programming. It is designed to bring like-minded artists and arts educators who believe in the development and accessibility of racial equality in the arts for underrepresented populations to our city and state.
